Stretching back memories to late 1980 joining upon first posting ,(I remember my E no 4424), Suman Gaitonde, as she was known, was right in her observation about Mr Ramanath Bhat who used to keep his eagles eye on all of us to ensure discipline. During probation, invariably we to sit late tallying RD, credit teacher s salary sb balancing which was probationers privilege then. Really it was an intensive learning phase though we used to resent then. Dinesh Kamath,Anand Bhat, Jaya Amin,Gokuldas Prabhu,as officers were very friendly,Amin an ever smiling person was too simple & used to soft-spoken. Rambhat,Nalinaksha,Eswar Reddy,Shylaja, Sujatha ,Savitha Hegde were our contemporaries, Suman Gaitonde had a very good talent in singing. Nalinaksha,Umesh Bhat &Palankar were union activists,Reddy was too fast in his work, Vijay Kumar & Mohan Bhat were good chess players, Mohan Bhat used to crack Ruby cube in record time,Suman Bhat Madam was always chosen by the Manager for tallying RD/SB balancing in which she was very good at,Yogish Pai too smart could clear CAIIB then in first attempt. Mahesh replaced by Lalithambika
,I remember,we protest ed when she was transferred to Hubli. Gurudas Nadakarni, a saint like gentleman known for his handwriting which was not merely illegible, but "mysterious" too. Suresh Shukla, who was senior then was typically humorous, habituated to pin the papers in inverted direction. Bharath Mudreddy was always helpful in tracing sb account numbers which others could not, he was good host too! Yallappa sr sub staff used tp procure ready made medical certificates from one Dr Siddhanti , hope Mallesh Narayan continue there. It' s really sad, we miss Dinesh Kamath,Vinod Aparanji,Gokuldas Prabhu. Upon mutual request from Venkatram Nagarhally, I came to PB Rd Davangere in late 1983, after qualifying as CA , bid good bye to Corp Bank, having settled in my practice at Davangere, doing well with all your good wishes. I still keep remincing those pleasant moments at Dharwad. Sorry, I have written too much, could not condense any part of it, sorry if I have missed any of my colleagues name, it is unintended
